The Robb Report named Scottsdale as America's Best Place to Live for Golf. The city is home to 240,410 residents and was voted the Most Livable Place in America. The population is fairly diverse with a low population density at 1,236 people per square mile.

Neighborhoods
The city is roughly divided into four sectors: the Shea Corridor, Old Town, South Scottsdale and North Scottsdale. The Shea Corridor is in central Scottsdale, and features homes from the 70s with increasing value and near many resorts. This has gained the street the nickname Resort Corridor. Located downtown is Old Town, which is full of stores, restaurants, nightclubs and art galleries, making it Scottsdale's main cultural district. Old Town also houses the high-end Scottsdale Fashion Square Mall, among the 20 largest malls in the nation. New and luxury homes are found in North Scottsdale, where new developments reach into the east and west of the McDowell Mountain range. The boom of development in this area is due to its proximity to Scottsdale Airpark, a major business center with 55,000 employees, 2,600 businesses and 23 million square feet of offices.
Recreation
In addition to its fame for golf, Scottsdale earns the national recognition as an ideal destination for relaxation with the country’s highest number of resort spas per capita. In total, Scottsdale houses over 200 courses, ranging from traditional rolling green fairways to desert golf designs.
